Angel Sleeved Bishop Dress
Dates:
- Tuesdays, April 1 & 8, 2008, 10-12:30
- Wednesday, April 2 - pick up pleated bishop & prepare it for smocking
Description: This is a comfortable summer
dress with a ruffle of a sleeve to protect tender shoulders from the sun.
In the first session you will see different ways to finish the edge of
the angel sleeve, cut out and sew the dress in preparation for pleating.
We will meet for an hour the following day for you to pick up your pleated
garment and prepare it for smocking. At the final session you will complete
the sewing of the bishop dress.

Supply List:
- Cherry Williams Bishop Dress pattern in any size:
Trace pattern pieces before class (I recommend tracing onto Golden Threads
tracing paper on a roll from QA). Cut out pattern pieces.
- Fabric for angel sleeve view
- Optional 1/2 yard for panties - can be same or coordinating fabric
- Lace, 1/4" ribbon, or trim for edge of angel sleeve
- Thread to match fabric (Mettler fine embroidery)
- Clear nylon snaps
- Geometric smocking design (we will discuss this in the first sesion
so you may want to wait to make your purchase)
- Floss for the second session
- Finished dress length of child for whom you are sewing
- 28mm rotary cutter and mat or dressmaker shears, whichever you prefer
to cut out patterns
- 6 x 12" ruler
- pins or dressmaker weights
- Sewing machine with all acessories
- Size 10 machine needle
