Learn the beautiful art of hand embroidery in this introductory 4 hour class. We will cover the back stem split chain running stitches and some filling stitches - french knots seed stitches and cross stitches. In an effort to save you time and money we've put together a required kit that includes the following: - Tweet Wreath pattern - a fat quarter of Kona White with Shape Flex stabilizer pre-ironed to the back - Floss pack - 6 Precensia colors - Embroidery Needle assortment pack - Pocket Guide - a hoop for stitching - use of rulers and marking pencils in class.

Learn all the basic steps to make your first quilt! In this class you will learn rotary cutting 1/4" seams, piecing, borders, basting, straight-line quilting, and binding. You will have a beautiful Rail Fence pattern quilt at the end of the class!

You've taken your first beginner's class and mastered most of the basics. Now you're ready for something new - TRIANGLES! In this class we'll make the Friendship Star quilt: you'll learn half square triangle units and work on perfecting your 1/4" seam allowance. A quick and easy project, the Friendship Star quilt will you boost your skills in no time! Class is from 10:30 - 5:30 with a lunch break.

Once you've mastered the basics of half square triangles and refined your scant 1/4" seam in Beginning Quiltmaking II, the next step is flying geese. Flying geese give you an opportunity to put that scant 1/4" to good use and exposes you to a new technique for triangles. We'll also discuss, and work with, adapting patterns to suit the needs of your individual sewing. Class is from 10:30 - 5:30 with a lunch break.

Want to learn to hand quilt but not a big fan of the teeny tiny stitches? Try big stitch quilting which is more relaxing forgiving and faster! This stitch can be used for modern quilts art quilts primitive quilts or anything in between. Jazz up a plain block or to add depth to something painted! The possibilities are endless!

Love the look of fabric bowls, casserole carriers, pie covers? Learn how to make your own bowls. Come prepared to leave with a Beautifully Completed Bowl and the Skills to make more and modify the pattern for other projects.

English paper piecing is a great way to piece unusual shapes and get perfect results! It makes for a great carry-along project or a relaxing hand-sewing activity in front of the TV after a long day at work.

Augusta Cole Class: This feathered star quilt probably has you wishing on a star that you too could make this beautiful quilt. Lots of small pieces may have your head spinning, but with step-by-step instructions, this feathered star with saw tooth border turns out perfect every time. You will be amazed how easily this design will go together. Good templates or a rotary cutter will make your wish come true. Large scale prints work well for making this design.

Learn the basics of hand applique using the Ebb pattern from Carolyn Friedlander. You'll learn the basic stitch how to sew curves points and dips. Expect to leave class with a beginner's understanding of the technique a started project and open horizon of many more applique techniques and projects!

Lepidoptera is a fun quilt for nature lovers of all ages! These sweet butterflies are pieced with no special techniques or templates using all basic shapes. In this class we'll learn to make the largest butterfly, walking through step-by-step to conquer this pattern. After class you'll be ready to finish up your largest butterfly at home, and then either move forward to the smaller ones or quilt and bind! Even though we probably won't get to the smaller ones in class, feel free to bring questions about those blocks, fabrics, etc., to class and we'll discuss them as time allows. Class is from 10:30 - 5:30 with a lunch break.

Learn a new block technique and turn it into a mug rug at the same time. The first session, in June, will work on making your own fabric. The second session, in July, will work on sewing hexagons or honeycombs on with a machine. August will be Split patches. Bring your scraps, general sewing supplies, and sewing machine. We'll supply the rest.

Using Heavens Above and Heavens Above Revisited, Betty Ring will teach you how to do one of these beautiful landscapes and skyscapes. Pieced works of art are separated into several smaller sections.

Learn how to make a classic pineapple block using Marti Michell Pineapple templates. This is a technique class. Fabric requirements are enough to construct two 12 inch finished blocks using the classic pineapple setting. Fabric requirements for a full size quilt will be discussed in class.

Join Phoebe to make this stunning new take on a traditional Double Wedding Ring quilt! Denyse Schmidt's pattern brings these rings to the 21st century - a familiar design with a new twist. This pattern focuses on improvisationally piecing the quilting rings, but then learning to square them down to be able to use them within a curved design block. In the first class we'll focus on all that fun improvisation, and in the second we'll hone our abilities to sew curves and square up these blocks for this amazing finish!

Have you been saving T-shirts from your children's activities or from favorite vacation spots? Turn them into a unique quilt that you'll design yourself. It's quick to make and a great gift. (Prerequisite: You must have rotary cutting and piecing skills. This is not a beginner quilting/sewing class. Very little sewing will be done in class.)

It's Tuffet time!!! Make your own upholstered low seat or stool. You can make an 18" tuffet with your own choice of fabric. We will have the pattern and hardware kit for you to purchase. Be sure to read the supply list carefully. You may stay and sew for the rest of the day after the first class. Join us once a month to sew on an English Paper Piecing project of your choice. Get complicated and do a La Passacaglia or do a simple hexie flower garden. We will be here to help, sew, and just enjoy your company. This is not a beginner class. If you want to learn how to do English Paper Piecing, please take the beginner class with Phoebe.
