Dreams and Memories

Dates:
- Tuesday, September 16, 2008, 10-5 (1 hour for lunch)

Description: Stitch a celebration! Combine a variety of machine appliqué techniques, fusing, machine and embellishment with fun fabrics and leftovers to create a small panel - a stitched “greeting card” to commemorate a special person place or time.

Instructor: Laura Cater-Woods

Class fee: $80

Kit fee: None

Level: All Skill Levels

Supply List:
Basic sewing supplies
Needles: 90/14 Embroidery or 90/14 Topstitching
Bobbin thread
Invisible thread - YLI or Sulky or any Wonderfil thread
Design wall - (to keep your stuff together <G>) 45" x 45"

Optional but recommended: Decorative thread and other embellishments, have fun packing this up!

Fabric: 1/2 yard background fabric (leftover blocks or "watercolor squares" okay)
1/4 yard contrast fabric
Assortment of scraps 4" or larger: Novelty fabrics, florals, batiks work well.

** Don't worry about your fabrics - the more we have, the more we can share (and usually the 'perfect' fabric is the one left at home)

You should also have:
Sketchbook or visual journal, sharpie pen, paper (a good size is 18 x 12" or smaller), fusible interfacing, small amounts of your preferred fusibles. Steam a Seam 2 is good to have for the novelty elements.
