Garment Techniques
Dates:
- Monday, October 6, 2008, 10-12 - Zippers: centered, lapped (2 kinds),
hand picked
- Monday October 20, 2008, 10-12 - Buttons, machine and bound buttonhole
Not currently scheduled:
Pockets: inseam, patch, lined patch and window
Darts, seams & seam finishes
Hems, elastic & drawstring casings
Facings, bias binding, interfacing
Description: Learn different garment sewing techniques in each class, and make samples for a sample notebook. Machines are available or you may bring your own.
Instructor: Cynthia Stockdon
Class fee: $15 per class (sign up for each class separately)
Kit fee: none
Level: All levels, including beginner; for
ages 8 and above. Under 8 years may attend with adult.
Supply List:
each one: 1 or 2 clear 8 1/2" x 11" pocket pages, thread, 1/4
yard of 45" wide fabric (solid or with a quiet print)
also needed for 'Zippers'- 4 7" zippers, 'Pockets'- contrast fabric scraps or fat quarter
scissors, pins, measuring tape, ruler
sewing machine in good working order with accessories, etc.
