Description: Make this clever, creative, and
impressive quilted gift or personal journal to keep notes, lists or travel
adventures. This is a wonderful way to experiment and arrange different
fabrics, try various embellishments and decorative stitches without much
time or money invested. Make it as simple or glamorous as you want. Fun
and easy!

Supply List:
- Sewing machine, regular ¼", free motion & zig-zag
foot, walking foot (if you have), embroidery needle.
- Basic sewing supplies for quilting. Think small - ruler, mat, etc.
- Decorative threads, invisible thread, and regular sewing thread
- Pattern: Journal Cover by Embellishment Village, Laughing Cat Designs.
- Notebook: approximately 6"x8" (use a medium notebook with
side opening).
- Fabric: Base Fabric (muslin) 12"x15"
- Thin batting 12"x15"
- Decorative design fabric 5-6 different coordinating fabrics (batiks
work great) each approximately 4"x15". One of these fabrics
could be used for pockets and lining an additional 1/3 yd.
- If you have odds and ends of decorative yarn, lace, embellishment type
stuff, beads, bring them along.
- A sheet of freezer paper about 30"x width.
- Black Sharpie marking pen.
- Basting spray (Sullivan's) if you have it. I will have some available.
- I found that interfacing was helpful in the pockets, only need a 12"x12"
piece.
