Project QA - August 16 & 17, 2008

Have you ever wished that there was a “Project Runway” for quilters? A design competition that would stretch your creativity (but maybe without some of the drama)? Then sign up now for our Project QA weekend! Here’s how it’s going to work:

- Participation will be a minimum of six contestants and a maximum of nine.
- When you arrive at QA on the morning of August 16, you will be presented with your challenge. It will require the use of a particular fabric (that we will provide) and will focus on a theme (that we determine). You will not know the theme or the fabric before that date. You goal is to create a finished small quilt OR CLOTH DOLL that incorporates the fabric and theme. UPDATED
- You may bring as many tools as you like – “tools” means sewing machine, rotary cutter, scissors, pins, needles, etc.
- When you sign up for Project QA, you will be given a cardboard banker’s box. You may bring only the supplies that will fit into this box. “Supplies” means fabric, thread, embellishments (in other words, consumables). If you want additional supplies to work on your piece, you may buy whatever you like during the weekend.
- Lunch, soft drinks, and snacks will be provided both days.
- Work will start at 10AM Saturday and end at 5PM. You may not take anything home with you to continue work.
- Work will resume at 10AM Sunday and end at 4PM. Judging will take place at 4PM.
- Your piece will be judged on originality, workmanship (including how much you got completed), and how well you use the fabric and reflect the theme.
- The winner will receive a $25 Quilting Adventures gift card. UPDATED
Our goal with this is to stretch you creatively and have fun. Please leave the “Survivor” mentality at home.

Fee: $55 (includes lunches, drinks, snacks) UPDATED
