I’m sure most of you don’t know this about me, but I’m a book junkie.  There, I said it, I can’t take it back.  It’s out there for you all to see.

Book publishers make their living off people/shop owners like me.  I just can’t resist the newest/latest/greatest/freshest title.  No willpower – almost like trying to resist chocolate!

This Spring Market was no exception – lots of new books, and they’re starting to arrive.  Awesome, yes, but it also creates a problem.  If the bookshelves are too full, you can’t find anything and then you don’t buy anything. 

So, time to make some room for the new.  This morning I pulled a “few” books to put on clearance.  I had to stop cause the cart got full:

We got a lot of calls today from people asking if we’re open tomorrow (Sunday) for Mother’s Day.  We are!  Normal Sunday hours, 12-5.  We’re having a Pillowcase Sew-in tomorrow, to sew more pillowcases to donate to ConKerr Cancer as part of the Million Pillowcase challenge.  We are asking for a $5 donation for each pillowcase you sew tomorrow to help cover the costs.

So, please stop by – bring your Mom, if you can – even if she doesn’t sew, she’ll probably enjoy looking at fabric and all of our colorful samples.  And if you’re the Mom, ask your family to let you slip away to hang out at your favorite quilt shop for a bit.  Sew a pillowcase, or not.  Check out all the new fabrics that came in last week, all the new stuff I moved to clearance to make room for them.

I’ve got a small free gift for everyone who makes a purchase tomorrow – something that’s destined to become a collector’s item one day!    (in the same way that your old Ukrop’s memorabilia will become collector’s items)

New from Timeless – Willow, a lovely blender.  We’ve had a few of these pieces before but now we have nineteen of the colors.  I didn’t take a photo, but here it is on Timeless’s website.  Of course, their website shows all the colors – we just got the pretty ones. 

And don’t forget that today (27th) and tomorrow (Wednesday 28th) are our monthly finish the bolt days.  Buy what’s left on a bolt of fabric and get 25% off the entire piece!  Help us make room for the May shipments that will start rolling in next week.

April is almost over, but we have two big events still coming up – Fat Quarter Frenzy is this weekend, and the Quiltathon is next weekend.    And there are quite a few classes left on the April schedule that still have room!

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 3, we’re having a sale!  And some fun in honor of Phoebe’s birthday – plastic eggs and chocolate. 

Today is actually Phoebe’s birthday, and like a good mom I let her have the weekend off, so we’re not really having a birthday party.  But back in the dark ages when she was a kid, we’d often have egg hunts for her birthday.  I miss those days – egg hunts are fun!  So I decided to tweak the egg hunt theme a little bit for a special sale tomorrow.  Everyone who comes in the shop will get a plastic egg with coupons and chocolate.  We have several different coupons (they’re *all* good, of course) and different kinds of chocolate, too, so you’ll have to pick the right egg for you!  Some of the coupons are good one day only – tomorrow – and you pick your egg when you get here so you know what to shop for.  In addition to that, we have other goodies on sale, too!
