Inventory Reduction Sale

Friday, December 23rd, 2005 by Joyce

In case you’ve been missing the newsletters or maybe just don’t believe me, here’s what the classroom tables look like now during our inventory reduction sale, which runs through January 1:
Sale!
There are lots of bargains to be had, and I’ll be slashing prices even more next week, so don’t miss out! And yes, that sign in the front *does* say “Books $4″!

Quilts for Richmond

Tuesday, December 20th, 2005 by Joyce

Our Quilts for Katrina project has shipped 67 completed quilts to surivors of Hurricane Katrina. Most of the distirubtion warehouses for the various projects are closing down, but clearly there is always a need for charity quilts. To that end, I have decided to morph Quilts for Katrina into Quilts for Richmond (Q4R).

We have a busy work weekend planned January 12-14, inviting anyone who can hold a needle or scissors (NO sewing skills required!) to see how many quilts we can make for our local charities. First on our list to receive quilts are the Salvation Army and YWCA shelters. We do not need any fabric donations, but we could use more volunteers to pre-wash fabric, cut and sew into quilt backs, cut fabric into squares, or sew kits into quilt tops. If you can help with any of these things, please ask next time you’re at the shop (or call ahead and we’ll have something ready for you to pick up).

Updates, Sales, Hours, etc.

Friday, December 9th, 2005 by Joyce

Phoebe has been doing the blog updates for me lately, but I’ve reduced her hours a lot so that she can dedicate more time to schoolwork. So there haven’t been any blog updates recently. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything new!

We got three new collections from Free Spirit this week: Picadilly, Fundamentals, and Color Flash. Picadilly is lovely soft greens, yellows, pinks, florals and paisleys. Color Flash is faux hand dyeds – they’re especially beautiful, but you have to open them up on the bolt to really appreciate them. Fundamentals is stripes in color gradations; you get several shades of a color in each cut. The links will take you to the Free Spirit website gallery of each of these collections.

Yesterday we got the new Bohemian Melodiez (designed by Jan Mullen) from Marcus Brothers. I haven’t even unpacked them yet! There are pictures on the Marcus website.

We’ve been preparing to do our year-end inventory, and I’ve been setting aside some things that I’d rather sell that count. Starting on Sunday, we’ll be using the classroom tables as our “inventory reduction” area. Be sure to come check it out! I’ll keep reducing things over the next few weeks until it’s all gone.

And the class schedules are on line. Go here to have a peek at what’s in store! Many of the class samples are hanging in the shop, so come check them out.

We’ve changed our shop hours a little bit, too. Mondays we’re closing at 6 instead of 8, so our new hours are:
Monday 10-6
Tuesday-Friday 10-8
Saturday 10-5
Sunday 1-4

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Mon 10-6; Tue-Fri 10-9; Sat 10-6; Sun 12-5
