Hello All!
We received and email a couple of days ago about a project called VSAVA’s Outside the Lines. They are looking for submissions of artwork by January 1, 2007. I’m going to attach part of the email that Krishanna sent us.
VSA arts of Virginia is pleased to announce new visual art exhibition opportunities for artists with disabilities and others with limited access to the arts. VSAVA’s Outside the Lines exhibition program is open to artists with disabilities and others with limited arts access, nationwide. Outside the Lines offers opportunities to showcase work for sale while learning how to professionally submit and present art for consideration in juried and curated art exhibitions. All media welcome. Exhibitions begin February 2007 in 4 different venues in the greater Richmond area. Arts organizations and human services agencies are welcome as well. Deadline for submissions is January 1, 2007.

One of our customers, Cindy Lyles, had a quilt accepted into the Hoffman Challenge travelling show this year. It will be at Houston, so Phoebe and I will get to see it here. Here’s a picture of “I Dream of Fishies in the Light Blue Sea”:

Congratulations, Cindy!
QUILTERS HALL OF FAME “CALL FOR QUILTS” & UPCOMING EXHIBIT – Karen Alexander, President of the Quilters Hall of Fame writes, “Whether you want to honor a living woman or create a memorial tribute to one who has passed, this may be the exhibit for you. The Fiber Arts Connection of Southern California is preparing a special juried exhibit — “She Left Her Mark” — to hang March 1 – June 15, 2007 at The Quilters Hall of Fame in Marion, Indiana. This is your chance to honor a woman in your life whom you have greatly admired. (The theme of your piece is wide open for interpretation. It simply means you are honoring a woman via your quiltmaking.) Click on the word “Prospectus”
when you reach the website below and a pdf file will automatically download for you.”

Well, okay, Phoebe’s quilt. But *still*. We’re so proud. ![]()
Phoebe’s quilt, “Payden the Pirate Fairie” is included in Linda M. Poole’s new book, Quilted Fairie Tales. And yes, we have the book in the shop. You can see more pictures of her quilt (and my fairie quilt, Pansy, too) on my personal website.
