The New Store!

Monday, December 28th, 2009 by Kristal

Hello everyone! Have you made it to our new store in Willow Lawn yet?  Well, if you haven’t here is some eye candy that might entice you to come over!

Phoebe’s been working hard on some great displays up front.  All the softies are cuddled together in this cabinet with their patterns near by.  Come see our front window displays too!

Joyce has the ‘daylight’ lighting again.  The lighting plus these new custom-built shelves make it so easy to see the true color of our fabrics!  The shelves are also a great way to show off our samples and class displays.

Above was part of our batiks.  The picture below shows part of our ‘blenders’.  We have the whole rainbow for you!

And of course we still have our trims, tools, notions, and etc.  I think we’ve all mostly learned the new locations of everything so don’t be afraid to ask!

We hope you’ll come by and visit us.  And don’t forget about our New Year’s Day Event!

New Fabric!

Saturday, December 26th, 2009 by Kristal

Joyce knew we’d have more space at this new location so she planned for more fabric to come straight here!  We have lots of beautiful new ones.  :-)

More flower fairies from Michael Miller – some of them have very cool dots:

Very cute Beatrix Potter Benjamin Bunny prints:

I grew up with the gnome book and just love this panel and it’s coordinates!

We have a selection of fabrics from the Hoffman Challenge – the colors are wonderful:

Patty Young’s new line Flora and Fauna is beautiful (and come see our window display that uses these fabrics!).

Northcott’s Cambridge Square black and whites are very elegant:

We were all gushing over this precious line called Love U by Deb Strain for Moda.  Snails, owls, and turtles – oh my!

And as promised, Joyce ordered some more Oriental fabrics – Robert Kaufman’s Imperial Collection 5 is gorgeous!

So come see our new store and all of these beautiful new fabrics – they’re much prettier in person than in my unprofessional photos!

Happy Holidays!

Preview Benefit Event cancelled

Saturday, December 19th, 2009 by Joyce

Our special Preview Benefit Event, scheduled for Sunday, December 20, has been canceled due to nasty icky winter weather (yes, it’s pretty – but it’s cramping my plans!).  We will open as scheduled on Monday, December 21, 10AM.  Hope to see you then!

No Pictures :-(

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009 by Joyce

I figured I’d just warn you up front about the lack of visuals accompanying this narrative.  ;-)

It’s been a BUSY few days, and we ain’t done yet!  We’ve had phone issues and MAJOR internet issues (there’s a certain company that should learn that if they can’t provide what they say they will, they really should tell the customer sooner rather than later).  In fact, we still don’t have internet at the shop.  So if you’ve emailed us and we’ve haven’t answered, please bear with us.  If you’ve called and not reached us, please try again later (like, perhaps next week).  :-)

NEW FABRIC!  We’ve got new orientals from Robert Kaufman; the Hoffman Challenge fabric and some of the coordinates are in.  Gnomes and Flower Fairies and some of Flora and Fauna by Patty Young, all from Michael Miller.  New batiks from Robert Kaufman.  Cambridge Square from Northcott.  And probably more to come!  We deliberately planned to have lots of fabric delivered this week to make up for the fabric we didn’t have delivered for the last month, and our new UPS and FedEx driver have not disappointed!

We’ve made really good progress in putting things in their new homes.  The batik and blender sections are breathtaking on the new shelves.  My staff are working themselves to the bone and doing a great job of it.  And we’re really liking the new space, enjoying how it’s all coming together.  It won’t all be DONE by Sunday, but it will be more than presentable!

Hopefully tomorrow we’ll get internet at the new shop, and I know I’m going to be bone tired, so I’ll try to take some pictures and do another blog entry (my excuse to escape to “the cave” and sit for a while).  :-)

Hurry! :-)

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 by Joyce

We’ve been waiting for WEEKS for the latest shipment of these gorgeous scarves from Island Batiks to arrive, and they finally showed up today (along with some fabric, too). These would make lovely holiday gifts, but I know from experience they’ll go fast – so please don’t wait to come pick up a few.

And a reminder – this week is our last at the Staples Mill Road location – we’re here through the end of business Sunday, have lots of clearance sales going on!

The sales just keep on going….

Sunday, December 6th, 2009 by Joyce

Remember to bring your QA Bucks with you when you shop this week! And to reward all you loyal fans (you’re going to see right through this one!), I’m putting fat quarters on special from now until when we close to move (end of business Sunday, Dec 13), 20% off. Just remember to ASK for the discount. Yes, okay, I admit it – I just don’t want to have to PACK them! Please come buy them all! Limited to pre-cut fat quarters, quilt cotton only. But there’s still almost 5000 to choose from! :-)

Fat Quarter Frenzy this weekend!

- precut fat quarters only
- fewer then 10 are sold at regular price
- specialty fat quarters (velveteens, silks, etc) are excluded from the sale
