Easy Reversible Valance

Dates:
- Saturday, August 9, 2008, 1-4

Description: You won't believe how easy it is to sew this valance or how much money you'll save over commercial window treatments! This pattern will give you a finished valance with four different looks to choose from!

Instructor: Joyce Hartley

Class fee: $20

Kit fee: None

Level: Beginner - must know how to use sewing machine

Supply List:
- Easy Reversible Valance pattern by Karen Montgomery
- clean sewing machine with new needle (sharp size 80) - please bring accessories and manual
- scissors
- rotary cutter and mat are optional
- long pins - I recommend the Clover fine quilting pins
- Use the pattern to calculate how much fabric to buy for your window. Please note that if you are using a striped fabric, you may need to adjust the calculations to have the stripes run the right direction. Ask us for help if you need to!
- Thread to match your fabric. There is a lot of topstitching, so choose a thread that looks pretty!
- You do not need to bring your rod to class, but you do need to know how big around the rod is so that you make your pocket large enough.
- dimensions of your window
- ruler - Omnigrid 6 x 24" is perfect, or something comparable
- marking pencil or chalk that can be easily removed from fabric but that you can see to sew on the lines (Clover silver pencil works well)
