One Block Wonder Zoom Class

Impress your friends by making a fast and easy One Block Wonder quilt. It is composed of gorgeous, eye-catching kaleidoscopes. We will work from the book “One-Block Wonder Encore!” If you want to cut out all the pieces on QA's die-cutting machine, you can make an appointment before the second class to cut. We will show you how to use the cutter if necessary.

Learn the importance of a design wall. Discover the secret of piecing hexagons while sewing only straight seams. No set-ins! You also will learn to make several kinds of cubes to give your quilt even more life. You can’t go wrong with this quilt!

*CHOOSING YOUR FABRIC
You will need 6 repeats of the pattern on your fabric.

You can check how the blocks will look by going to www.oneblockwonder.com
Go to the design helper section. Click on "Choose local image"  Then take a picture. If you think you got a good picture (whole width of fabric and one repeat of the pattern as close as possible), just not a blurry one or a video/live picture, say use photo.  Then scroll down and click on make hexies. You will see the picture with triangles, scroll down and it will show you what your quilt/blocks will look like. If you are doing this on your computer, upload a picture to you photo library on you computer. You can then us the photo library choice instead of take a picture.

Pick a fabric with colors you love. Large prints work well. I suggest you read the “Choice of Fabrics” section starting on page 5 in your book before choosing fabric. The author may suggest things you don’t agree with, such as limiting the number of colors. Take her suggestions with a grain of salt. But I agree with almost everything she says. We will discuss this in class. Note that we will not be combining more than one fabric without discussing it first.
