Disappearing/Split Blocks

Ever wondered what a disappearing 9 patch or 4 patch looks like? How many ways can you split one of these blocks and what patterns can you make from these? This is a day to discover all of this. Joins us with your blocks an we'll spend the day slicing and re-arranging them.

Supply List:
-Sewing machine in working order with the manual
-Straight stitch AND 1/4" foot for your machine (a 1/4" foot without a "blade" kind of guide)
-New 70/10 Microtex machine needle
-Neutral 50 weight 100% cotton thread
-Regular sewing supplies - scissors, paper scissors, seam ripper, pins, etc.
-Rotary cutter with new blade, mat, and ruler at least 6" x 12"

Fabric:
Several of sets each:(4 in a set)
9 patches
4 patches
16 patches
half-square triangles
pinwheels
hourglass squares

Size does not matter, but don't make them too small. When you split them, they'll be tiny pieces to sew back together.
Each set should be the same placement of solids and prints. Prints can be scrappy. Solids can be blenders, low volume, tone-on-tone. Just make sure there is good contrast in the block.

If your class requires a sewing machine, please be sure that you are familiar with its operation, it is in good working order, has been serviced recently, and bring your manual along to class just in case!

We do not allow children under the age of 18 in our classes without the consent of the teacher and the shop owner.

Only the person who is enrolled and paid for the class may be in the classroom during class time. Out of consideration for the teacher and the other students, please do not bring children, guests, or friends to class with you.
