Barn Quilts
What is a BARN Quilt? Traveling back roads, you may have noticed a Burst of Color on some Barns. These are likely a large painted Quilt Square. Thousands of these can be found. Many were done in honor or memory of a loved one. Wende will share a little history with you in class.
You will create and paint a smaller (12x12 inches), framed barn quilt square for an interior or protected exterior spot. Several patterns will be available in advance.
There will be a lunch break. You can bring your lunch or order from several local restaurants.
Supplies
Few Colored Pencils that will show up on a white background and Sharpener
Art Eraser
3 Angled Craft Brushes for ACRYLIC PAINT --No wider than ½ inch and a ¾ or 1’ Flat or Angled Brush for applying your Sealer at home ( I’ll provide sealer)
Exacto Knife with NEW BLADE!

Provided:
Board (12"x12") and frame
Dixie Belle Chalk Paint and several Matte Acrylic Paint colors. If you are dead set on a particular color for your Masterpiece, please choose from Plaid Folk Art MATTE craft paint or Delta Ceramcoat in Matte finish….I have found them to be the best consistency to NOT Bleed and I cannot promise this from other brands…You’ll find theses readily available at Michaels & Hobby Lobby. One bottle per color is MORE than enough and inexpensive.
Class Policies:
In consideration of other students and employees with allergies, please limit your use of scented personal products when attending one of our classes.
If your class calls for a book or pattern, each student needs their own copy of that book or pattern. Under federal copyright law, books and patterns may not be shared.
If your class requires a sewing machine, please be sure that you are familiar with its operation, it is in good working order, has been serviced recently, and bring your manual along to class just in case!
We do not allow children under the age of 12 in our classes without the consent of the teacher and the shop owner.
Only the person who is enrolled and paid for the class may be in the classroom during class time. Out of consideration for the teacher and the other students, please do not bring children, guests, or friends to class with you.
Cancellation policy: If the class minimum is not met within seven days prior to the class, it may be cancelled and you will be notified and will receive a full refund. Please keep this possibility in mind when you purchase supplies for your class. No refunds of class fees will be given if student cancels within the one week prior to class.

| Instructor Bio: | I have been a quilter for 30 + years, enjoyed working in my Beloved Local Quilt Shop and taught various Quilting and Textile Arts. A few years back I began to paint & flip furniture. What first began as a means to save money and repurpose items turned into a small side business. While decorating our new home, I came across a painted quilt pattern through Baker Nest that I knew would look Great in our family room. And, BAM---I was hooked.
