Quilt Math 101

How do we figure out yardages for backing? Sashing? Binding? What's in a linear inch versus a square inch? When do I calculate linear versus square? Why is this HARD?
Heather will show you her technique for figuring out perennial quilt math questions. As visual people (you wouldn't like quilts so much if you weren't visual!), we will discuss using rough sketches to facilitate our calculations as well as learning formulas to figure out the yardage we need for various sized projects.
So what do you need to bring?
1. Paper
2. Pencil with eraser (we WILL make mistakes!)
3. A calculator (I use my phone's)
With basic math skills, you'll be able to calculate yardage in not time!
