All The Things Tote Bag Class

Have you ever wanted to make a tote bag but feel intimidated? If so, this is the class for you. This pattern is simple, but you'll learn how to use bias binding to create a sturdy tote bag.

** Note: you will need to have your fabric quilted before the class. This can be done at home with your machine, or we can longarm it for you.**

Supplies:

All Things Tote Pattern

1 yard of fabric for the main (if directional, you will need to cut it and piece the top, see pattern)
1 yard of fabric for the lining
3/4 yard for binding and *handles

*if using webbing for handles, you will need 1.75 yards of 1.5" webbing
1 Yard of ByAnnie's soft and stable or Bosal to be used as batting
Base stabilizer (only for M or L bags)

All supplies available at the shop, and 10% discount given for enrolled students

To bring to class:

Sewing Machine (must be in good working order and you must know how to use it)
Walking foot (optional but helpful)
40 or 50 weight thread (best to match accent fabric)
rotary cutter
pins or clips
seam ripper
scissors
6" x 24" ruler

CLASS POLICIES

If your class starts at the same time that we open, we will let you into the shop ten minutes before class time.

In consideration of other students and employees with allergies, please limit your use of scented personal products when attending one of our classes.

If your class calls for a book or pattern, each student needs their own copy of that book or pattern.  Under federal copyright law, books and patterns may not be shared.

If your class requires a sewing machine, please be sure that you are familiar with its operation, it is in good working order, has been serviced recently, and bring your manual along to class just in case.

We do not allow children under the of 18 in our classes without the consent of the teacher and the shop owners.

Pets are not allowed.

Only the person who is enrolled and paid for the class may be in the classroom during class time.  Out of consideration for the teacher and the other students, please do not bring children, guests, or friends to class with you.

Cancellation policy:  If the class minimum is not met within seven days prior to the class, it may be cancelled.  You will be notified and will receive a full refund.  No refunds of class fees will be given if the student cancels within one week prior to class.
