Visible Mending; Mend it March!

Visible Mending: A 4-Hour Hands-On Workshop

This four-hour visible mending class introduces the art of repairing clothing in a way that celebrates creativity, care, and sustainability. Participants will learn how to mend worn or damaged garments using decorative hand-stitching techniques that turn repairs into intentional design features. Through guided demonstrations and plenty of hands-on practice, we’ll explore techniques such as Sashiko, patching, and basic embroidery, with an emphasis on color, texture, and personal expression.

The class is beginner-friendly and welcoming to all skill levels. Students are encouraged to bring a garment in need of repair, along with curiosity and a willingness to experiment. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a mended (or mostly mended) piece, practical skills they can use at home, and a new perspective on extending the life of their clothing through mindful, visible repair.

Perfect for anyone interested in sustainability, slow fashion, or learning a creative, meditative craft.
