December Doings

December Doings

December has started off with a bang. Cold and rain, but no snow. :0) We have lots going on for the month. We’d love for you to join us.

We are doing classes for last minute gifts you can make. This Saturday we will be making Microwave Safe Bowls, starting at 10:30a.m. You can stay as long as you want and make as many as you want.

On Dec. 17th, we will help you make pop-up containers. They make great holders for presents, laundry, Legos, pet toys, and more. Make any size you want. We will start at 10:30a.m. We will help you do one, but you can stay and sew all day. Make a whole nesting set.

The week before Christmas and the week of Chanukah, we will be having all kinds of daily flash sales. Plus, come in wearing holiday attire (Uglier the better) any day that week and get 10% off your purchase. On Christmas Eve we many have a few more goodies for you. Remember we have shortened hours on Christmas Eve – 10a.m. – 3p.m.

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day we will be doing a modified version of our demonstrations. We will have scheduled short demos all day long both days. We will have the schedule out soon. You will be able to sign up for our block of the month, mystery quilt, and/or UFO Club.

Don’t forget to check out our classes. Many of the New Year’s demos will soon be classes on the books. We are starting the year with a reverse applique class from a quilter/teacher from New Zealand. She will teach Friday afternoon, Jan. 6. Then Saturday morning, you will all get together to get help to keep you your motivation up and more done on your project.

A new beginner class will be held starting January 12 in the afternoon. You only need 6 fat quarters to start, plus your regular sewing supplies. Sign up and come see us for help getting ready for the class.

The end of January brings a set of Dresden Plate classes. You will learn how to do a basic Dresden Plate in the first class. The next class will have you make some great variations.

We are looking forward to what 2023 will bring and we hope you will join us in all of our celebrating.

Happy sewing everyone,

Phyllis and the QA staff
