Dear Friends,
We hope this note finds you well and happily stitching!
Coming soon! We have two new classes at Quilting Adventures that celebrate slow stitching, tradition, and creative expression.
Sashiko: Japanese Traditional Embroidery
Saturday, February 7 | 2:00–5:00 pm
In this relaxed and engaging class, students will be introduced to Sashiko, a traditional Japanese embroidery technique rooted in both beauty and utility. We’ll focus on learning the basic stitches and patterns while creating one or more coasters — perfect small projects that highlight rhythm, mindfulness, and handwork.
Visible Mending
Saturday, March 14 | 12:30–4:30 pm
This four-hour class explores the art of repairing clothing in a way that celebrates creativity, care, and sustainability. You’ll learn how to mend worn or damaged garments using decorative hand-stitching techniques that turn repairs into intentional design features. Through guided demonstrations and plenty of hands-on practice, we’ll explore techniques such as Sashiko, patching, and basic embroidery, with an emphasis on color, texture, and personal expression.
